Progreston Falls is a 6.7m high, 16.5m wide terraced curtain plunge fall that is mainly the result of the damming of Bronte Creek near Progreston Road, below a railway bridge. It is situated on private land and the presence of a large gated fence makes viewing it difficult without permission from the land owner.
Progreston was, until the early twentieth Century, the site of numerous mills, including a woollen mill, a grist mill, a number of sawmills and a peg factory. The settlement also had a general store, a blcksmith and considerably more houses than it currently does. All the mills burned down between 1900 and 1939 and were not replaced. The dam which forms Progreston Falls is now used to power a private hydroelectric generating station.
