Tiffany Creek is a cool water system, whose headwaters are, approximately, both sides of Garner Rd. W., east of Garner Marsh (the source of Ancaster Creek), west of Upper Paradise Rd. It is heavily supplemented by run-off from the built-up areas that surround it and the numerous roads in the area, leading to significant contamination of the watercourse at times.
It, along with Tiffany Falls, is named after Dr. Oliver Tiffany, the first General Practitioner to practice in the district. He was born in Massachusetts and studied medicine at the Philadelphia Medical College. He relocated to Ancaster Township in 1796. Due to the large territory he covered, Dr. Tiffany stabled horses at farms around the area in order to be assured of a fresh horse as he covered his rounds. After running his practice for forty years, he died on 7th May, 1835. It was reported that six hundred mourners attended his funeral and the influx of wagons and buggies caused a long-after remembered traffic jam.
