Fairchild Creek

Along with Grindstone Creek and Spencer Creek, the main source for Fairchild Creek is the Beverly Swamp (via Barlow Creek). Fairchild Creek serves as a key part of the Grand River watershed.

When the First Nations met LaSalle (René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle) ca. 1678, they named the creek after him, ‘Fairchild’ being a reference to his pale complexion.
